Quick Gluten-Free Noodles

 

This is about as healthy as convenience food gets!

These Zero Noodles (Original) 200g-  are a must have in your food cupboard.

The description on the pack says:

‘Zero Noodles are not just low in calories, they are made from a plant root, which is high in fibre, has been known to help maintain normal blood cholesterol levels and contribute towards weight loss. They are flavourless and can be used in all of your favourite noodle and pasta dishes.’

 

 

Team that with another store cupboard item that I always have to hand and you have a very quick, healthy, gluten-free meal that you happened to find in your kitchen cupboard!

 

 

 

This Lloyd Grossman sauce contains no additives, preservatives, gluten or sugar and is low in calories.

There are lots of other sauces available but not all are gluten-free.

 

 

You will need to use 2 packs of noodles and 1 jar of sauce for a main meal for two people. I only used 1 pack of noodles between two of us and it was more like a light lunch.

 

 

 

Put a pan of water onto boil.

Rinse the noodles in a colander under warm water and add to the boiling water.

Simmer for 5-10 minutes. (I cooked them for 7 minutes and they were just right.)
At the same time, heat the sauce gently in a saucepan, stirring occasionally.

 

 

 

When the noodles are cooked, strain in a colander and serve with the sauce, some grated Parmesan cheese and black pepper.

 

 

 

 

Simple, healthy and very quick!

 

Zero Noodles can also be added to soups, stews and stir-frys.
